On April 14, 2016, TEEN TRUTH partnered with the Harris County Department of Education Center for Safe and Secure Schools in Houston, TX to offer the first ever TEEN TRUTH: Difference Maker Summit for adults.
The 3-hour workshop featured student-driven content geared to give insight into critical teen issues and was hosted by TEEN TRUTH’s CEO, JC Pohl.
“I have been performing these events for years with students, but I’ve never been asked to work with adults in this manner,” said Pohl, “I loved it. We had a lot of fun, and we worked hard to understand how to build school culture by empowering student voice.” As a result of the event, everyone in attendance developed an action plan for their own school campus.
100% of the adults surveyed after the program gave it an overall rating of “Excellent”, and virtually all “Strongly Agreed” that the session expanded their knowledge, was useful to their work, and presented well by JC.
