How to Be the Influencer You Need to Be
I hear the word “influencer” a lot these days. They have thousands of followers on Facebook and rep big brands on Instagram, but their influence usually tops out at hocking free hotel rooms or promoting product deals at Nordstroms.
So are they really an influencer? Or just a glorified marketing tactic?
You, on the other hand, are a little different. The students, teachers, and parents that you interact with make up the fabric of our country. If that’s not real influence, then I don’t know what is!
As educators we tend to keep our heads down and eyes on the prize, self-promotion doesn’t come easy for us, but it’s super important in our quest to make the world a better place.
TEEN TRUTH’s school counselor, Penny Knight, is a forward thinker in this area. She understands how to advocate for her program, and connect with students, and how to take her efforts of self-promotion into the new world of social media.

P.S. So, I started a new podcast called Building America From the Inside Out. America seems divided lately, so I thought I’d offer thoughts and advice on how we can pull things together. If you want to check it out, you can find it on Apple, Spotify, or anywhere your favorite podcasts are found. I’d love to hear your thoughts or comments on how I can make it better.
